IUCN, four capital letters to protect and save nature. Four letters to designate one of the most important organisations for the defence of biodiversity. Founded in 1948 in Fontainebleau, the International Union for Conservation of Nature is holding its World Congress in Marseille from 3 to 11 September. This event, which takes place every four years, will bring together governments, civil society, indigenous peoples, scientists and companies. A major meeting, in a hybrid format, before the Cop 15 on biodiversity in Kunming, China, and the Cop 26 on climate change in Glasgow.
