The WTO Secretariat together with several WTO Members hosted a visit from the International Union for Conservation and Nature (IUCN) with the aim to exchange knowledge and information on mutual areas of interest and to explore potential partnership opportunities.
The exchange helded with IUCN’s Council, its principal governing body, during their wider induction retreat hosted by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment and IUCN’s Senior Leadership. IUCN is an international organization working in the field of nature conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. It is involved in data gathering and analysis, research, field projects, advocacy, and education. IUCN is an official stakeholder to the WTO’s Informal Dialogue on Plastics Pollution and Environmentally Sustainable Plastics Trade (IDP).
