During the World Coastal Forum, I stressed the importance of the conservation of coastal areas, which not only provide countless opportunities for development and the implementation of nature-based solutions, but also meet the challenges of biodiversity loss and climate change.

My intervention placed international cooperation at the heart of the ecological conservation of coastal areas. Events such as the IUCN World Conservation Congress in Marseille, the upcoming One Ocean Summit in France, and the program “the Mediterranean: a model sea by 2030” highlight the French and international commitment to the preservation and restoration of coastal habitats.

The role of the Global Coastal Forum is decisive for this year, where the People’s Republic of China is hosting the end of COP15 in Kunming. These types of spaces, both virtual and face-to-face, allow us to share ideas and experiences to join agendas and programs that contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and the fight against climate change.
